Mission

The Idea...
...came to me in 2007, after Olwyn (my wife), Molly and Grace (my two daughters) went to a performance at a local church by a traveling children’s choir from Africa. After the show, the performing children talked about their families, their culture and their school life. During this discussion Molly and Grace learned of the struggles many African children face on a daily basis, one of which is transport to and from school, many children have to walk 5 to 10 miles daily to get to and from school. 

On the way home from the show Molly and Grace suggested that we send the children in Africa our old bicycles so they could get to school quicker and easier…this is how www.bicyclesforafrica.com was conceived.

Our Mission... 
...is to help and support school children throughout Africa, by giving them the resources they need to get to and from school, so they can, in turn, spend more time on their studies and better themselves.
