Approximately 6 million unwanted or outgrown bicycles unfortunately end up gathering dust in a garage, or dumped on a scrap heap when they could be easily used to help a needy individual in Africa. Bicycles for Africa is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that donates unwanted bicycles from the US to children in Africa. We plan to target schools, supplying the children with bicycles, and the school with secure bicycle stands and supplies to maintain the bicycles.

We want to collect as many bicycles as we can locally, with a goal of completing our first consignment by early 2012.
